You searched for: Eczema In 4 Months Baby?

My baby boy has red patches behind his knees, at the folds of his hands, near the elbows and also dry skin on his legs. Paed has given Physiogel for application. I have not been using that. I have been using natural skincare products for him, and seems it is not improving. His skin condition worsens during hot season, but at night, it seems okay. Anyone got any suggestions? Please assist. Thanks.

Our daughter has eczema and her pediatric dermatologist recommended a few things….aveeno unscented products, give luke warm baths 2 times DAILY (do not rub dry, only pat dry and apply lotion while skin is still moist and turning up the heat in the bathroom will keep the chill at bay), do not use fleece pjs only cotton (fleece absorbs oils in the skin and does not breath), and use a humidifier at night. We followed those things and it’s 100% better now. Within 3 days we saw a huge improvement too, and not at 16 months it’s unnoticable. Good Luck!

I use Stelatopia products by Mustela for my son, seven months, who has the same thing. It has made quite an improvement. I use the Millky Bath Oil every day in his bath water, and the cream on his arms and legs after bath. Try blotting him dry after bath rather than rubbing him, and then slather on the lotion.

Aquaphor is also a good product to seal in moisture.

Hydrocortison works for me too, she is 15 months now and was worse in the summer. My doc told me that sometimes baby grow out of it. Pat dry after giving a bath and moisturize alot, i was also told to use unscented baby bath products and moisturizer.

  4. I would suggest using what the pediatrician has prescribed for him. If that doesn’t improve it, call his doctor to see what other treatments may work.

How often are you bathing him? Bathing dries out the skin and aggravates the condition. Some skin care products aggravate it as well. Bathe less often (every 2-3 days)

Hi,I have a 6year daughter that battled eczema for the first 3-4 years. She was prescribed all the typical eczema creams, some cured just temporarly. We finally seen a dermatologist that gave her Triamcinolon cream. It was by far the cheapest and she has been eczema clear for the past 2-3years. Sometimes when it is dry outside she may have a small outbreak, but I put this cream on and it is gone. Also I bathed her using Oil of olay body wash with shea butter (it has a yellow lid). These have really helped. Oh also you need to moisturize with a fragrance free moisturiser as soon as he gets out of the bath. I hope this helps.

The house is too hot while the air in the house is too dry. Wash only with soap with baby oil in the soap. Use the cream the doctor says to use. Add moisture to the room the baby sleeps in with a plug in humidifier or something and if it is really too hot, no covers and no clothes to sleep. Most important is to always do as the doctor says to do.

My daughter has Eczema. i use all of the Aveeno products and they help. It is not realy gone though. My doctor also gave me a prescribtion but I was waiting to see if I could use something basic first.

  9. Are you sure it isn’t psoriosis? They can appear very similar. Psoriasis tends to be on the knees and elbows. There’s a sight that helps to differentiate the two at the end of my answer.
You know what it is crazy but has worked awesome on my daughter…Johnson and Johnson baby magic. It moisturizes continuously. And it isn’t a steroid. , A moisturizer that is continuously moisturizing the are is the best, so just becasue a moisturizer is all natural doesn’t mean it is going to help the eczema, it just means your son probably won’t have an allergic reaction to it. Cetaphil seems to be the most commonly used for this skin condition…its a little expensive, but it works wonders.

My son has it also. I tried everything I could find. My doctor gave me hydrocortizone to use. It gets rid of it in one or two applications. I use very very little. His gets worse in the summer too. The doctor told me that if it’s not itching them or doesn’t look like its infected or anything then don’t worry about it. I have found that you must keep it very moisturized. I use that udder cream you can get in the pharmacy. It comes in a tub that’s black and white like a cow.

2 of my sons had eczema badly. I found that Hydrocortison worked well and it’s non-prescription. Also the Aveeno products worked well.

Don’t use chemically treated water, and make sure your baby is towel dryed thoroughly after bathing. Works for me and my son with the same problem.
