extentions last for around 3 months, people have them for lenght or thickness or both. there are many different typs of application and you can have fake or real hair in a range of natural and unnatural colours.

  2. Sherri M says:

Sometimes real hair is used, mostly good fake hair.
They glue it on or braid it in with needle and thread. To your hair, not your scalp.

there are many different answers depending on whether you have
    REAL HAIR
    OR
    SYNTHETIC HAIR
the difference between this being approx £20 per bag
here is my personal experience of extensions : i had them weaved in which i think is the only way to have them its an artform they were fantastic and lasted 5.and a half months the hair cost £26 per bag i needed 2 bags and i had hair 2″ above my waist a nice straight flat style.a girl in our city from kenya weaved them in and this is where you need to ask to see work before you agree to it . it took about 3 an a half hours and she charged me £100 pounds to do it .

get clip in ones, you can take them out and they dont wreck your hair. You get remy human hair ones which are excellent.

I have the “Great Lengths” ones & they are wonderful! I haven’t had a single one fall out in a month now. The hair is Indian Remy (temple) hair of the highest quality. This is my second time having extensions, the previous ones were Balmain which were also “bonds” but they were not as good – kept fallin out & required more maintanence for the same $

You can have real or fake hair. Synthetic hair looks really fake, stands out from the head and you can’t use heat on it. Real hair is normally easier to manage however can frizz like normal hair.
You can have hair weaved in, plaited in, heated in, glued in or bonded in. The best one’s Ive seen are heated in. They use a small plastic tube and fit the extension inside it as well as a small piece of your own hair.
They should last 3 – 5 months depending on how quickly your hair grows as they grow out, but if you don’t look after them they look tatty very quickly!
Remember hair extensions are expensive and can cause tracia alopecia, which can result in permanent alopecia (hair loss.)
In my opinion your best bet is to use temporary glue or clip in ones for special occasions as they can really hurt your scalp too!
