there are a lot of different types of toner – including alcohol free toners (for sensitive skin or some that are actually hydrating toners for older or dry skin – both of these types do not contain alcohol).
Toner as well as moisturizers are recommended for everyone, however some people can’t use anything because they are so sensitive.
A lot of the grocery store brands are very harsh and stringent, and do tend to dry out your skin.
As for what they do, different kinds of toners do different things.
They have pore refining toners that help close up pores and cleansing toners that help clear out whatever your facewash missed. There are also toners that help work on breakouts and reduce oil production.
A good place to start if you don’t want to spend a lot of money would be Clinique, Lancome also has great skincare products. If you want to spend a boatload go for La Prairie or La Mer.
Either way, it’s always good to get a consultation – good luck!

A toner is definetly something everyone should keep in their skin beauty regime.
It cleans the skin thoroughly, but is more gentle & delicate than soap, which can dry your skin.
You don’t have to be worried about skin drying up, because today’s toners rarely have alchohol in them. Just look for a bottle that says ‘alchohol free’.
Besides, a toner can be matched to your skin type, providing the best cleaning for either very oily or very dry skin.
I’d reccomend Nivea’s Moisturizing Toner. It’s realy good, & doesn’t dry up the skin, if that’s your concern.
Anyways, as after every face cleansing method, apply a good moisturizer to return the moistness back to your skin.

i don’t think it is good for everyone because it can dry out your skin. i use witch hazel instead.
