You searched for: Do You Think The Expensive ‘premium’ Products Are Worth It?
Brands like Laura Mercier, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, Dior, Clarins etc. Are their skincare products so much better to warrant the extra money – say £40-£50 for a moisturiser as opposed to about £10-£15 for a leading product in Boots.
And make up – what’s worth it & what isn’t.
Would be really glad of your opinions.

for skincare, its give and take. some brands are good and the price is cheap and some are bad and the price is ridiculous. you have to really ask yourself if its worth. if its skincare from No7 (which i think it is) then buy it. i have heard so many good reviews about it i am switching. now for make-up. yes, price is a difference. the colours last longer, smoother and are just so much different. but there is this brand in Superdrug called GOSH and it gives all the expensive brands a run for their moeny. i’m telling – this line, it is worthy to be called premium. the eye shadows feel like they should cost £12 but they are just £6.50. but i would really say fork it out on make-up. but remember, some cases in make up you also have to give and take – some expensive brands do sell crap things. you just have to be savvy shopper and know where to shop.
Lots of times the premium products have special antioxidants or retinoids to delay the aging process, in that case it is worth it. If it is just a basic, plain moisturizer, then no it is not. I will get my cleansers from the drugstore, as long as it is gentle, you’ll be fine. I get my foundations from department stores and everything else is a combination of drug and department store products.
I’m not as sure about moisturizers, but when it comes to eye make up the expensive stuff is much better. Everytime I use the cheap stuff my eyes get very irritated, red and watery. It’s not fun. Also, I have noticed that expensive powders even my skin tone much better than cheaper ones. I like MAC products, Bobby Brown and Estee Lauder.
not to wear everyday, no. but it is nice to have something more special to put on on occasions. for everyday just wear a cheap foundation, or else when you dress up you won’t look any different. plus, if you wear expensive stuff everyday people will probably notice it and that isn’t good. in premium products, the ingredients tend to differ which can be good or bad. the more expensive brands will use ingredients that could harm your skin just to make you look good. cheaper products mostly have minimal ingredients because they are sold at a lower price. hope this helps
they are not always the best as they have featured on how to look good naked it shows that the premium products are not always the best, if i was you i would look at reviews on the internet for the product you want to buy and that should give you an idea of whether to buy it of not
No way! You can get stuff thats just as nice but cheaper so why splash out? I love Natural Collection at Boots. Its really nice quality and cheap! ( :
I would say that 99% of the time it is not worth it. Although sometimes their products are better than others. It all depends on the product.
I use Bee Luscious and yes it is worth the extra money. The results are all the proof I need.
Its as simple as “You get what you pay for”
