I wear a lot of makeup … I wear fake bake, use hair products to increase shine, use a heap of face creams, face wash, own a ton of makeup, get pedicures, manicures, mud baths, skin exfoliants, micro dermabrasion, I go running, I could talk ALL DAY about makeup and skincare and haircare and thats not a lie. I am also studying to be a beauty therapist. I am curious how people that aren’t obsessed with makeup, view girls who are obsessed with makeup? I’m just curious. I’m a 22 yo Caucasian female.

I have strawberry blonde wavy hair, that frizzes (Irish/Puerto Rican & Italian), After trying everything under the sun I was looking at two product lines that I really like alot, but I don’t know which one will be the better of the two. I like that Aveda doesn’t have all the sulfates and no parabens as my twin girls’ skincare products are like this as well, but I heard that thier products don’t perform, and that Bumble and Bumble does, but when I read thier label it was loaded with parabens and sulfates. I don’t know which one to go with…I tried a sample of both (the Aveda Smoothing and the Bumble & Bumble Gentle), the aveda my hair was still tangled alittle and with the Bumble and Bumble it combed though easily, but on blowdrying the bumble frizzes and the aveda don’t! HELP I cannot decide between the two!

Yeah the question sounds like I am a spoiled brat but please listen.
This year so far, I have not asked for anything. Maybe things like pencils, some t-shirts, just small things.
My brother asked for a surfboard($500), snowboard($100), a helmet ($60), trip to hawaii ($800) And these things were bought for FUN .
& he got all of those this year so far (and other things)
My mom told me I should go to a skincare for my acne, and the products were quite expensive but it worked for all their patients. My mom said she won’t buy it for me. It was $150.
I just don’t understand why she buys my brother all these things for him to play with, and why she can’t buy me things.
Am I mistaking? Or should I talk about this with my mom?

I’m confused with all of these potions and lotions for the face! Toners, day and night cream, exfoliating, face masks – they’re all so complicated! I have no idea which ones to use and how to use them, or if mixing here and there is a good idea at all!
I’m asian (with light coloured skin, yellow undertones) and my face is rather oily, has rather big pores, and it has a little bit of acne (I am 18) not only that, it’s sensitive to boot! It reddens VERY easily and stays red for awhile!
I’m at a loss for what to do and use. I live in the UK and don’t know many other Chinese females or people who know a lot about this.
I live in the generation where teenagers are so insecure about how they look. I see other asians around the UK and it makes me upset that they have such beautiful skin. :(
PS: I drink water

I like my personality but i am realistic – i know that guys care a lot about looks and there have been times in my life where i have let myself go (eaten what i want and not exercise) and at those times i get barely any male attention. Yes that hurt to be overlooked due to my appearance. Well now i look after myself really well – no junk food only healthy and exercise, skincare. Yes i also suffer from depression and see a psychologist.
I do like my personality and i have never thought my personality was the issue when it comes to guys. Im not happy with how i look it upsets me and there are things i really want to change and am saving up for. I have problems with food where i feel super guilty eating junk food and sometimes i do stupid stuff like live on diet coke for two days and do a lot of exercise to tone up (Im already 51kg, 5″6). I just dont think my looks are good enough and i do think some guys would not want me because they dont think im pretty enough – thats because im being realistic.
I think i am funny, really smart, nice, caring and even sexy (i think you can be sensual without being pretty). I think im a good friend, good sister and i am a good girlfriend when i date. But i just do not think im pretty enough.
Does this mean i dont love myself just because im really hard on myself about my looks?

I am a 21 yo Caucasian female. I spend a lot of money on skincare so I don’t have to wear makeup. I use a Chapstick so I don’t get windburn, but thats about it. I also do not dye or straighten my hair. I think I look nice because I have good grooming habits – skincare, brushing my hair etc. My hair is shiny and thick because I don’t fry it to death with chemicals and heat. A lot of girls at work wear heaps of makeup, packed on. Yesterday, I was in the bathrooms with a girl from work and she was reapplying her face, and asked me why I don’t wear makeup. After stating my reasons, she told me that girls who don’t wear makeup have no self-respect and are lazy and look like they don’t make an effort. I was pretty taken aback, and just wondered what other people think….

I break out a little from time to time usually only during that time of the month but for the most part I have my skin under control. Recently basketball season started for me and the day of our first practice after tryouts I broke out bad – like all over my cheeks. It’s gross. My mom says it’s probably from the sweat basketball, but I have been playing basketball for years and I haven’t ever broken out like this until now. Plus, I had band camp over the summer which was outside in all the humididty and I didn’t break out like this then either. I haven’t changed my skincare routine at all (face wash, toner, moisturizer and a face masque once or twice a week) so what’s up with this? Should I add something to my skincare routine during basketball season or something?
